We made some updates!
Effective September 1, 2024
The Co-Op is excited to announce important updates regarding our processes, which will impact how you interact with the Mountain Health Co-Op team in the future.
In the coming weeks, the Co-Op will host provider webinars to answer all your questions. Please monitor our website for webinar registration information.

Key Changes…
New Payer ID
Our new Payer ID is MHC01. Please notify your third-party vendors to use the new ID for all claims.
New Member ID Cards
Members have received new ID cards. ID numbers have not changed, but the backs of the cards will contain our new billing information. Please be sure to update their records.
Provider Portal
We are launching a new and improved Provider Portal. You will have access to all the information you need in one location.
Provider Directory
We have launched a new and improved provider directory on both our website and within our new member portal, which will allow our members to access in-network providers more easily.
Enhanced Security Features
We implemented enhanced security measures to protect your information better.

What you need to know
The Co-Op team knew the time would come when we’d need to make a few updates to enhance the experience of providers, members, and agents. We weighed all our options very thoroughly and we’re launching some improvements to make it easier for you to partner with the Co-Op.
We’re the same Co-Op and the same team, but we’re excited to make these enhancements for you!
HPS has over 60 years of experience on and off the Exchange. We’re confident in their ability to provide great service for you and our members.
This change will be live effective September 1, 2024. All claims received after September 1 will be processed by HPS.
Direct connection to Optum users:
Follow these steps to enable the new Payer ID, submit electronic claims, verify eligibility, and set up ERA & EFT:

UPDATE: New Electronic Claims Connections Available
Mountain Health CO-OP is now available for claim submission.

Effective September 1, 2024, Optum will have new electronic claims connections available:
Payer Name: Mountain Health CO-OP
Institutional CPID: 7565
Professional CPID: 2499
Payer-assigned Payer ID: MHC01
Payer Enrollment Required: No
Secondary Claims Accepted: Yes
Payer Location: Montana, Wyoming, Utah
Claims Fee: NA
Effective August 15, 2024, discontinue using CPIDs 4779 and 5920, linked to University of Utah payer ID SX155, for Mountain Health CO-OP claims. Please hold claims until CPID’s 2499, 7565 are available on September 1, 2024.
Action Required:
- Effective August 15, 2024, discontinue using CPIDs 4779 and 5920, linked to University of Utah payer ID SX155, for Mountain Health CO-OP claims.
- Add Mountain Health CO-OP to your system to begin using the new payer connection under CPIDs 2499 and 7565, payer ID MHC01 on September 1, 2024.
- When a payer requires enrollment, forms must be submitted and approved to begin submitting transactions.
- New Optum users:
- Use the steps below to set up an account:
- Create an Optum Provider Portal Account by clicking this link: Optum Provider Portal
- In the top right corner of the page, click ‘Sign In,’ then ‘Create Account’ and follow the steps to register.
If you have any issues enrolling, please contact Optum at 1-800-527-8133 (7 a.m.-5:30 p.m. CT, Monday-Friday).

Yes. Members will receive new cards with updated claims submission information and contact details for when they need to reach our team. The Member ID number, network, and pharmacy information will remain the same. Members can access a printable ID in the new Member Portal.
RealRx remains the PBM for the Co-Op.
Starting September 1, 2024, our new phone number will be 800-299-6080 for customer service, sales, and provider questions.
Your provider portal is now available on our website’s provider page. Through these portals, you can…
- use a member lookup and search for Member ID cards,
- view, search, and manage claims,
- manage prior authorization,
- access and submit forms and documents,
- and more!

Effective September 1, MedVersant is the new credentialing vendor for the Co-Op.
Effective September 1, 2024, the Co-Op’s new clearinghouse is Optum Change Healthcare.
