Raising Healthy Kids

Summer is here, and parents like you are balancing a packed schedule of camps, family visits, and outdoor fun. But while you’re managing all the summer chaos, it’s also the perfect time to schedule your child’s Well-Child visit and immunizations.

Why Well-Child Visits Matter

Well-Child visits are routine check-ups that help make sure your child is growing and developing as they should. They also give you the chance to talk to your child’s doctor about anything on your mind. These visits help with:

  • Tracking growth and development: Make sure your child is meeting important milestones.
  • Catching issues early: Preventive screenings can flag health concerns before they become bigger problems.
  • Staying on top of vaccinations: Keep your child protected against serious illnesses.
  • Getting your questions answered: Talk with your pediatrician about sleep, nutrition, behavior, school readiness, and more.

Children’s Immunizations

Vaccines aren’t just for infants. Your child may need boosters as they grow. Vaccines help:

  • Prevent dangerous diseases such as measles, whooping cough, and meningitis.
  • Protect your community: some people can’t be vaccinated, so getting immunizations helps to protect them.
  • Build lifelong health by preventing illness now and reduce the risk of complications later in life.

The Co-Op covers many routine vaccinations at no cost when you visit in-network providers. Log into the member portal and check your plan for more information.

Don’t Forget Vision and Dental Care

Even if you don’t have vision or dental coverage, the Co-Op offers rewards for annual dental and vision exams for you and any dependents covered by your plan. Regular check-ups help catch problems early and keep those smiles and eyes healthy.
