Idaho Dispensing Fee Changes

Effective June 1, 2026

Some pharmacies will have higher fees to fill prescriptions, which may increase your out-of-pocket costs.

  • To learn the cost of your prescription before your refill, log into the Member Portal
  • Scroll halfway down your portal’s home page.  On the right hand side of the page, choose the Pharmacy link.  This will take you to RealRx, our pharmacy benefit manager.
  • On the top of the RealRx page, select Drug Finder to search for your medication, compare pricing at different pharmacies, and view estimated out-of-pocket costs based on your benefits.

You can also contact your pharmacy directly and request a price check for your prescription.

Other ways to keep your prescription costs down:

  • Ask your provider or pharmacist to compare costs of brand name and generics. Some generics have less expensive options. By asking you can save money on your deductible, co-pays and co-insurance.
  • Ask your provider if you can get a 3-month rather than 1-month supply of your prescription. Each pharmacy charges a dispensing fee for each prescription refill. You can lower your costs with fewer visits to the pharmacy.
  • Compare prices. Research if you can get your infusions, especially self-injectables, at a lower cost.  If you’re able, you can get self-injectables, mailed to your home. Or, you can choose an in-home infusion provider or infusion center for less cost than most doctor’s offices or hospitals. To learn more, reach out to our Care manager by calling 833-412-4144 and choose option 5.
  • Not all pharmacies charge the same for the same prescriptions. You could save money each year by choosing the pharmacy that is the right fit for you.
